The bogolan white cloak is a striking, unisex garment crafted from authentic bogolanfini (also known as mudcloth), a traditional handmade cotton textile originating from Mali. Dyed using ancient techniques with fermented mud and natural plant extracts, the fabric features a crisp white base accented by bold, hand-painted geometric patterns, symbolic motifs, or abstract designs in deep black or dark brown tones. These patterns carry cultural significance, often representing proverbs, historical events, or protective symbols in Bambara tradition.
This flowing cloak offers a comfortable, versatile layer—perfect as a lightweight jacket, cover-up, or statement piece—with its lightweight yet durable weave providing warmth and elegance.
Note: As each piece of bogolanfini is individually handcrafted by artisans, the traditional patterns or marks/designs on the fabric may differ from those shown in modeling photos, ensuring unique variations and minimizing repetition of the same motifs across garments.
